WHY SHOULD I BE CONCERNED WITH FAMILY PLANNING?
Posted on: November 22, 2018
By definition, family planning is about deciding the desired number and age gaps of your children. One does so via the use of contraception such as abstinence, natural planning or hormonal birth control. Proper birth spacing is having children 3 to 5 years apart, which is best for the health of the mother, the child and the family.
The right time to have children is when a woman is:
Aged between 20 and 35 years old
When the last child’s birth was at least 2 years before or if any medical issues are well controlled and managed
Without any illness which can affect the woman’s and her baby’s well-being
Most importantly, the right time is when a couple chooses to have a child. The woman and the baby could be at risk if the factors above are not met. Therefore, women are encouraged to use an effective contraception method that suits them best, to prevent any unwanted pregnancy.
